1928 George V Maundy Money Set
Religious Church of England event held every Thursday before Good Friday. Maundy Money is struck in denominations of 1 Penny, 2 Pence, 3 Pence and 4 Pence.
Circulated coinage was used until 1800's, until four Maundy Coins were struck as noticeable non- circulation pieces.
The Obverse designs of the coins depicts the reining monarch. The Reverse, with a crowned numeral 1,2,3 or 4. almost encapsulated by a wreath- a design first used during the rein of King William III and Queen Mary II.
