2007 $1 400th Anniversary of the Founding of Jamestown
This coin was issued on behalf of the British Virgin Islands. The Year 2007 celebrated the 400th Anniversary of the first permanent English settlement in America and to commemorate this momentous event, the British Virgin Islands Government approved the release of a stunning coin which shows the English Lion and the American Eagle together, to re-iterate the special relationship between the UK and the US.
The Reverse of the coin features the English Lion and the American Eagle together signifying the special relationship between the two nations. The olive branch symbolises peace and the acorn and oak leaf between the lion and eagle represents a strong growth of friendship.
